Turn run-of-the-mill vodka into a delicious Gin in your own kitchen !
We love a good G&T here at Verde or a little Gin Fizz or a Negroni or even a lovely Gin Spritz - ok we sort of just love Gin! This lead on a path to discovering just how to make our own and then we couldn't help sharing.
Gin is one of the most aromatic spirits, with gin makers extracting flavours from a range of botanical ingredients, the main ingredient being Juniper berries. These little super berries are jam-packed with infection fighting qualities as they are warming, stimulating and disinfecting – no wonder gin was touted as a herbal medicine in the early 1700s.

Our love of gin and making stuff lead us to create our own home made Gin and experiment with flavours, which led us to create our very own Verde Gin Kits ('cos we really wanted to share the fun!).
Our DIY verde gin kit provides everything you need to turn run-of-the-mill vodka (You supply the vodka!) into delicious gin the old school way - by steeping the juniper berries and essential botanicals in a base spirit. Our 'bathtub' rebel Gin methods may not be as posh as your favourite distilled version, but we like to think of our Gin as upmarket rustic, artisnal and genuine, a little like your best flannel shirt. Plus, it’s fun to make.
We've also discovered our Verde Gin Kits make great gifts for the gin lover who would just love to make their own house gin and experiment to get their very own flavour profile.
The place to start is with our Essential Starter DIY Gin Kit Box, which includes everything you need to get started (You supply the vodka!) and makes up to 2 x 700ml bottles of infused own-made gin. We guarantee once you start you won't stop!
And we now have a bonus free video for you to watch that comes with the gin kit. Makes it even easier to a make your gin.
... but wait we want to tell you all about our favourite flavours and botanicals too....
Botanicals are the essence of your gin!
Once we got started, we got into the alchemy of it all and went one step further – dreaming up a whole range of botanicals so that you can make lots of different types of gins. That way we can all play with flavour, create amazing taste profiles, and make gins that are individual and fun. Perfect for lazy afternoons, Friday night cocktails or a big birthday bash!
Once you have our Verde gin kit, you can experiment to your heart’s content with our in-house botanical blends. Your botanical pack will always include juniper berries, because this is what makes gin gin - it just ain’t gin without them (by definition!).
The rest of your botanicals are carefully crafted to give you subtle highlights and deep lows to round out your gin and make it special.
We are experimenting and inventing new botanicals all the time as we explore the world of artisan gin making. We are busting to share - new gin botanicals coming your way soon!
Gin Botanicals we now have:
Southern Blue - a twist on a classic, with Butterfly Blue Pea Flowers to create an actual blue gin. So good for cocktails!
Pink Party - everyone loves a party and these botanicals make a house gin with a little hint of raspberry and natural rosella to make your party gin pink. Nothing better than a pink gin to make a party get started!
Hot and Wild - a hint of chilli makes this house gin add a little punch to things.
Tasmanian Inspired - inspired by the natural beauty and delicate flavours of Tasmania. One of our favourites
Original Classic - can't go past a tasty dry gin with subtle aromas and profiles. Something always to fall back on for a classic gin taste.
Mit Zitrone - with a little zing of citrus, this adds a bit of deliciousness to summer G&T!
When the gin-making bug bites, our gin crafters subscription box is the perfect way to get your monthly fix of gin making (and drinking!).
